EPISD is proud to offer a variety of excellent learning pathways in our high schools. Even if it is outside of their designated school attendance zone, students can select the program with the educational path that is the best fit for them.

During the fall semester, counselors will introduce the many academic programs available in high school to their middle school students. There is a program of study for every interest, from business and education to various STEM-focused courses and more. Counselors review these options as students prepare for their high school transition. These include career-specific programs of study and courses for college credit, such as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, dual credit, and dual enrollment. At every high school, students can earn an associate degree or industry certification along with their high school diploma. 

High school program representatives will visit middle schools or host informational nights each fall to showcase these programs. Check with your student's counselor for dates and times.

Middle school students and their parents are encouraged to explore the high school programs below to learn more about the offerings at each campus. 

• Middle school students are introduced to EPISD's various high school programs and academic offerings.

• Middle school campuses host High School Programs Information Nights and/or High School Programs Information Fairs during the school day.

• High School Programs host Parent Information Nights/Open Houses.

• The window to submit IB applications and applications for the various Magnets and Academies is open. Eighth grade students may find and complete these forms online at each program's website.

• The window to submit Early College interest forms and P-TECH interest forms is open. Eighth grade students may find and complete these forms online at each program's website.

• Eighth grade students must submit their application/interest form to their program(s) of interest.

• Eighth grade students are notified of their acceptance status.

• Students should formally commit to attending a program to which they are accepted to enroll for their freshman year. (The receiving program(s) will send instructions with an acceptance letter on how to do this.) Students should only commit to one program and decline all others.

• High School Program Coordinators will send Student and Parent Services the names of the eighth-grade students who have formally committed to attending a program the following school year as freshmen. 

• This process begins the official transfer request for rising freshmen attending a high school with a special program outside their attendance zone.

• Parents of rising freshmen new to EPISD or EPISD students attending a special program outside their attendance zone will receive instruction directly from the special program's coordinator on when and how to complete the online transfer process.

• Students should complete their online registration for the upcoming school year.
